Season Opener!

The Gamecocks opened their season with a make up game against Coastal Carolina University. Today the ladies earned their first win by playing well together, and taking advantage of opportunity. The first goal of the game was scored right off the bat in the first few minutes by Maddy Reid, assisted by Casey Quirk. Lauren Pruden was in the net for the Gamecocks today and kept a clean sheet all day.

Going into the second half, the score remained 1-0. Maddy Reid place a beautiful cross from the left wing into the box where Mackenzie Scully was able to head it into the back of the net, putting the Gamecocks up 2-0.

The final score of the game was 2-0, making the Gamecocks record 1-0. The ladies will be on the road for the most of the season, facing Furman University friday evening and Georgia Southern on Sunday, 9/24/17.
